TOHO Streams The ‘Hanebad’ Anime Opening Sequence

The summer 2018 anime series Hanebad is getting its marketing and promotion through TOHO for a lot of aspects of it and they’re doing some more for it now. TOHO has now brought out the opening sequence from the series in a very easy to share way with all the energy, fun, and color that comes from it.

It was directed by Shinpei Ezaki based on the scripts by Taku Kishimoto. Satoshi Kimura served as the character designs with LIDEN FILMS handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Hitomi Ohwada as Ayano Hanesaki, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Nagisa Aragaki, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kentaro Tachibana, Mikako Komatsu as Miyako Taromaru, Sayaka Ohara as Uraka Hanesaki, Mariya Ise as Conny Christensen, Ai Kayano as Yuika Shiwahime, Asami Shimoda as Kaoruko Serigaya, and Arisa Sakuraba as Nozomi Ishizawa

The original manga kicked off in 2013 in good! Afternoon magazine and has been serialized in it since with twelve volumes released so far.

YURiKA performed the opening theme song “Futari no Hane” while Yuiko Ohara performed the ending song “High Stepper” for the show.

Plot Concept: Tachibana Kentarou is a high school badminton coach who has a lot more enthusiasm than some of the members of his very small team. One day, he meets the quiet-voiced student Hanesaki Ayano, who is effortlessly physically capable and experienced in badminton. He tries to recruit her, but she seems to have no interest in the sport at all. Due to a series of circumstances, she eventually ends up joining the team. Coach Tachibana is determined that with her on board, they’ll be champions!
