We learned about the Calamity of the Zombie Girl original net anime project back in April 2018 but little beyond that it was coming out with a July 4th, 2018 debut. It actually showed up yesterday and is a 74-minute project that is, quite frankly, pretty nuts from what we’ve seen of it so far. Crunchyroll has added it to their service for streaming with it available to viewers in North America, Latin America, Russia, South Africa + Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland).

The project was directed by Hideaki Iwami with scripts by Kenichi Kanemaki. Junichi Takaoka is handling the character designs and is serving as the chief animation director with GONZO and Stingray producing the animation.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Saori Hayami as Euphrosyne Studion
  • Yui Ogura as Alma V
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Syuichiro Takanashi
  • Ryoko Shiraishi as Mako Takanashi
  • Miyuki Sawashiro as Sayaka Kamoshida
  • Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Masahiro Abe
  • M.A.O as Yui Minagawa
  • Yurika Kubo Noriko Sudo
  • Takahiro Miwa as Hiroshi Azuma
  • Mugihito as Miyake

The show is based on the light novel series Aru Zombie Shojo no Sainan by Ryo Ikehata. It began in 2012 (with an anime adaptation originally announced back then as well).

Plot Concept: The show focuses on a beautiful girl named Euphrosyne who is regretfully a zombie. Euphrosyne wakes up in an underground archive of a university, where a maid named Alma tells her, “Madam, kill the students and retrieve the ‘Secret Stone.’”
