The Encouragement of Climb: Third Season arrived yesterday in Japan and Crunchyroll picked up the streaming rights to it much as they did the first two seasons. Episodes will be going live on Monday’s at 3:00 pm ET for their membership. Availability for it is pretty solid as it’s open to viewers in the U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Demark, Iceland, Netherlands, Turkey, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, French Speaking Switzerland, French Speaking Andorra, French Speaking Luxembourg, Monaco, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, German speaking Switzerland, German speaking Luxembourg, Middle East and Arabic speaking Africa.

Confirmed to be the 15-minute style of the second season, which was a great upgrade from the short-form version of the first season, it’s scheduled for a 13-episode run. This one focuses on the time period that it takes place in, the fall season, which will give us new equipment and new settings.

Yusuke Yamamoto worked as the director and on the series composition for the first two seasons and is back for more as is Yusuke Matsuo who served as the character designer and chief animation director. 8bit is handling the animation production once again as well, which puts all the right pieces of the puzzle back together.

The Japanese cast includes Kana Asumi as Hinata Kuraue, Yuka Iguchi as Aoi Yukimura, Nao Tōyama as Honoka Kurosaki, Yōko Hikasa as Kaede Saitō, and Yui Ogura as Kokona Aoba.

Yuka Iguchi (Aoi), Kana Asumi (Hinata), Yōko Hikasa (Kaede), and Yui Ogura (Kokona) are set to perform the opening theme “Chiheisen Stride” (Horizon Stride) in character. With the ending, Yuka Iguchi (Aoi), Kana Asumi (Hinata) will handle that one in character with  “Irochigai no Tsubasa” as the title.

The original manga from Siro began back in 2011 in Comic Earth Star and has thirteen volumes released so far. Check out all our past coverage of the two seasons here. Crunchyroll simulcast both seasons but no home video pickups were ever made.

Plot concept: Aoi and Hinata are childhood friends. Aoi prefers staying indoors and is afraid of heights, whereas Hinata is outgoing and loves mountaineering. They both decide to climb a mountain in order to see a sunrise they saw together when they were younger.
