‘Kaguya-sama: Love is War’ Manga Gets Two Spinoff Properties

2 min read

Shueisha revealed at the beginning of this month that the Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga from Aka Akasaki is getting an anime adaptation, which works out well for Viz Media as they just started bringing the manga out. Now, it looks like Shueisha is going all in on this property as Young Jump magazine has revealed that there will be two spinoff manga series produced just as the main series cross a hundred chapters.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Dōjin Edition begins on June 14th on the Tonari no Young Jump site where the bi-weekly project from Shinta Sakayama will imagine erotic scenarios for the property.

Also coming is I Want to Talk With Kaguya which will show up in Young Jump magazine proper starting with the July 26th issue from G3 Ida. This is a simple four-panel comedy series, which isn’t a surprise as it’s a nice balance to the main work and can draw in a different segment of fans to it and the anime eventually.

The manga began in Miracle Jump in early 2015 and moved to Young Jump in 2016. The property has ten volumes out as of June 2018.

Plot Concept: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss-they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the ‘loser’ in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
