The winter 2018 anime series Idolish 7 has gotten its marching orders early with what to expect for the home video side with Bandai Visual handling distribution on it. With the fifth volume set to arrive on June 22nd, 2017, we get the “I” installment and another character focal piece with the packaging. The seventeen episode series is getting a seven-volume release that began on February 23rd, 2018 where the DVDs are priced at 7,000 yen and the Blu-ray’s at 7,777 yen, which is totally appropriate. Both formats for all volumes are listed as limited editions.
The seventeen episode series will be directed by Makoto Bessho with series composition by Ayumi Sekine. Kazumi Fukagawa is on board to handle the character adaptations into anime form while TROYCA will be handling the animation production itself.
The Japanese cast includes Toshiki Masuda as Iori Izumi, Yuusuke Shirai as Yamato Nikaidou, Tsubasa Yonaga as Mitsuki Izumi, KENN as Tamaki Yotsuba, Atsushi Abe as Sougo Ousaka, Takuya Eguchi as Nagi Rokuya, Kensho Ono as Riku Nanase, Wataru Hatano as Gaku Yaotome, Soma Saito as Tenn Kujo, Takuya Satou as Ryuunosuke Tsunashi, Soichiro Hoshi as Momo, and Shinnosuke Tachibana as Yuki.
Plot Concept: A group of aspiring idols gather at Takanashi Productions and are entrusted with the company’s future. The seven men who have just met represent a variety of totally different personalities. However, they each have their own charm and possess unknown potential as idols. Forming a group, they take their first step together as “IDOLiSH7.” Their brilliantly shining dancing forms onstage eventually begin captivating the hearts of the people. In the glorious but sometimes harsh world of idols, they aim for the top with dreams in their hearts!
