Discotek Media Acquires ‘All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku’ Anime Rights

1 min read

A classic that’s been out of print for far too many years, Discotek Media has picked up the rights to the All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku franchise. With dates to come for a late summer release, they’ve picked up up the rights to the OVA series, the TV series, and the Dash! property and will be releasing it all in one collection. This will be done as an SDBD as the Japanese Blu-ray release is largely considered terrible and a high-bitrate presentation of the SD source materials instead of a bad upscale will work better.

The release will come with the original dub and will be subtitled while also including what was produced for the UK dub.

Check out our review of the series.

Plot Concept: To stop president “Hell” Mishima from conquering the world home appliance market, scientist Kyusaku Natsume creates the androbot Nuku Nuku. Sweet as a kitten and strong as a tiger, teenaged Nuku Nuku has no problem dispatching Mishima’s stream of appliances.
