DC Comics Schedules ‘Batman & the Justice League’ Manga

2 min read

The 2017 manga series Batman & the Justice League from Shiori Teshirogi has been running in Champion RED magazine since June of last year and DC Comics looks to be bringing it over for release here. It’s part of the latest of interesting collaborations with Japan and the publisher with plans for it to land on October 23rd, 2018. The series is ongoing in Japan with the second volume out last month. It’s priced at $12.99.

“Mangaka Shiori Teshirogi (SAINT SEIYA: THE LOST CANVAS) creates an exciting new story, bridging an authentic Japanese comics approach with the World’s Greatest Superheroes. Translated into English and collected for the Western audience for the first time, BATMAN & THE JUSTICE LEAGUE VOL. 1 is a phenomenal entry point for fans of the Justice League and manga alike!”

Coming on the heels of the excellent Batman Ninja film, we’re pretty excited for this.

Plot Concept: A young boy from Japan travels to Gotham City on a mission. A year before, his two parents—both scientists—were presumably killed in an explosion that destroyed an experimental power plant. But the boy believes they may still be alive. At the very least, he’s determined to find out what actually happened. But his quest soon leads to a run-in with some powerful forces—forces that require help from both Batman and the Justice League!
