Vertical Comics Acquires ‘Kino’s Journey’ Manga

1 min read

Vertical Comics has made a welcome pickup when it comes to the manga side as they now have the Kino’s Journey manga that began in early 2017. This one is done by Iruka Shiomiya as it adapts the work from Keiichi Sigsawa that saw a recent anime adaptation. The second volume is set to be published next month in Japan. Vertical is looking at a summer 2019 release to get their version out to readers.

Plot Concept: Destination is a state of mind. A tale of one girl and her bike and the road ahead. Kino wanders around the world on the back of Hermes, her unusual, anthropomorphic motorcycle, only staying in each country for three days. During their adventures, they find happiness, sadness, pain, decadence, violence, beauty, and wisdom. But through it all, they never lose their sense of freedom. They discover that because of the world’s imperfections, it is actually a thing of beauty. “The world is not beautiful, therefore it is.”
