Seventh ‘Devils’ Line’ Anime Episode Previewed

The anime adaptation of the Devils’ Line manga got underway as part of the spring 2018 season and is rolling out new episodes weekly with HIDIVE handling the simulcast. The Japanese social media side is doing some new promotion for the show with a preview of the seventh episode that’s set to land on May 18th, 2018.

The show has Yoshinobu Tokumoto directing based on the series composition by Kenji Konuta and Ayumu Hisao. Hisato Kawaguchi is serving as the character designer and chief animation director with Platinum Vision handling the animation production. They’re a new studio that worked on Servamp with its TV series and film as well as Saiyuki Reload Blast.

The previously announced Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yūki Anzai, Yui Ishikawa as Tsukasa Taira, Ryohei Kimura as Hans Lee, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Takashi Sawazaki, Miyuki Sawashiro as Juliana Lloyd, Takahiro Sakurai as Kirio Kikuhara, Hiroshi Kamiya as Takeshi Makimura, Nao Touyama as Nanako Tenjou, Shouta Aoi as Kenichi Yoshii, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Yousuku Asami, Ryota Osaka as Naoya Ushio, Akira Ishida as Megumi Ishimaru, Mayumi Asano as Midori Anzai, Mamoru Miyani as Tamaki Anzai, Hiro Shimono as Shouta Akimura, Satoshi Hino as Ryuusei Yanagi, and Daisuke Hirakawa as Ryuunosuke Katagiri.

The series comes from Ryo Hanada that began in 2013 as serialized in Morning Two magazine and has ten volumes released. Vertical Comics has been releasing it in English in North America since summer 2016.

Plot Concept: Unbeknownst to the general public vampires are rampant in Tokyo. To control and contain them, the government has developed a program to track and treat rogue vamps who decide to pray on the public. But what happens when vampire and man come together in harmony and love? Will the public accept this or will they try to tear such partnerships apart.

Tsukasa, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, one of many vampires that can blend in among the human population. Anzai, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bond—one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood…
