The latest sales rankings for the world of manga and light novels has arrived that covers through the week ending May 6th, 2018. It’s a decent but quiet week for the most part though there are some good signs in it. Yotsuba added another 276,000 units to its total which shows the strength of this quiet little title in a big way. We also got good numbers for familiar shonen properties with Black Clover and Boruto along with Food Wars. Boruto in particular continues to grow nicely as it comes into its own. There aren’t a lot of titles in the top twenty that are early on in their runs for the most part and those that are tend to be known quantities, like Darling in the FranXX.
On the light novel side, Overlord adds another 43,000 units to bring it up to 170,000 since being introduced the week before. Case Close is showing some good book strength as is a new Naruto Shinden novel. And as the spring anime season goes on it looks like there really isn’t a boost to any properties here.
