
We learned back in October 2017 with the release of a short story collection for Ulysses: Jeanne d’Arc to Renkin no Kishi that an anime adaptation is in the works for the main property. Now the details are starting to come in for it with the series set for an October 2017 debut. A key visual was released to the right and the promo below.
The series will be directed by Shin Itagaki based on the series composition by Ryunosuke Kingetsu. Jouji Sawada is handling the character designs while animation production is being done by AXsiZ.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Ryota Ohsaka as Montmorency
- Yuko Ōno as Jeanne d’Arc
- Yūki Takada as Philip
- Hisako Tōjō as Astaroth
- Manami Numakura as Richemont
- Saori Ōnishi as Charlotte
- Shizuka Ishigami as La Hire
The novels are written by Mikage Kasuga and illustrated by Merontomari with three volumes out so far in Japan plus this newly released short story collection.

Plot Concept: The story is set in the 15th century, during the Hundred Years’ War between France and England over the succession to the French throne. Montmorency, the son of a noble, immerses himself in the studies of magic and alchemy at a royal knight training school. However, following France’s crushing defeat at Agincourt, the school is dissolved. Having lost everything and now a wanted man, Montmorency, who had just become an alchemist, encounters a mysterious village girl named Jeanne.
