With several early 1990’s giant robot series making their way to Blu-ray over the last few years, one of those was the Nekketsu Saikyo Gozaurer series. It saw released back in 2015 and we learned earlier this year that NBC Universal Japan is handling a new release for it that’s scheduled for May 30th, 2018. With that almost upon us it looks like the first look at the cover has arrived and it’s a familiar key visual so far, with hopes for a more expansive packaging set to come.

The set is priced down from 53,784 yen to 29,800 yen which makes waiting three years an absolute steal, in anime pricing terms. The Sunrise produced series originally aired in 1993 and 1994 with a total of fifty-one episodes having been broadcast.

Extras for the set are solid as we get a 12-page booklet, what looks to be five episode audio commentary, as well as the clean opening, closing, eye-catch collection, and all sorts of promos and commercials.

The show was the third in the Eldran franchise which had Takara-Tomy funding it in order to sell more toys.

Plot concept: The Kikaika Empire invades our solar system, and in a matter of moments they take over and convert Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter,an d Mars, and set their sights on Earth. However, one thing stands in their way. Earth’s ancient protector and soldier of light, Eldoran. To fight this menace he gifts a 5th-grade class with 3 huge robotic dinosaurs, with the power to merge and form the giant robot Gosaurer, which they then can pilot and use to stop the Kikaika Empire’s advances.
