Funimation got their simuldub of the Space Battleship Tiramisu series underway yesterday with new episodes arriving every Wednesday at 4:00 pm ET. With that in mind, we’re definitely glad to see Funimation bringing out some clip material during the run to try and draw people in even if they pull just from the frist episode. The dub has Jeremy Inman directing it based on the scripts by Leah Clark. The main cast was revealed to include:

  • Anthony Bowling as Sabaru Ichinose
  • Kyle Phillips as Isuzu Ichinose
  • Jeremy Inman as Vulgar Hummer
  • Brian Mathis as Narrator

The show was directed by Ikehata Hiroshi with series composition by Yu Sato while Ai Yokoyama worked on the character designs. Animation production was done by Gonzo.

The Japanese cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Subaru Ichinose, Takahiro Sakurai as Isuzu Ichinose, Junichi Suwabe as Vulgar Hummer, Takuya Eguchi as Subaru-B, Takaya Hashi as Venturi Leroy, Aya Endou as Ligier Leroy,  and Akio Otsuka as the Narrator.

The manga from Satoshi Miyakawa and Kei Ito began in 2015 on the Kurage Bunch site and Shinchosha has four compiled volumes published so far.

Kaito Ishikawa performed the songs for it with the opening song “Breakthrough” and the ending song “DURANDAL.”

Plot Concept: The story centers on Subaru Ichinose, the ace pilot of the space battleship “Tiramisu.” He is the youngest crew of the ship and can’t adapt himself to the life with older members of the ship, so he always shuts himself in the cockpit of his own mobile weapon Durandal.
