Nozomi Announces ‘Sweet Blue Flowers’ Blu-ray Anime Release

2 min read

Nozomi Entertainment is giving fans a little more love when it comes to the eleven episode series Sweet Blue Flowers. Originally airing in the summer 2009 season, Nozomi brought it out on DVD back in 2013 and has now scheduled a Blu-ray release for it. The set is scheduled for a Jule 3rd, 2018 debut where it’ll include the clean opening and closing as well as the art galleries. The monolingual set is also sweetly priced at $39.98 before any preorder discounts.

Based on the manga series by Takako Shimura, which began back in 2004 and has eight volumes when it ended in 2013, Sweet Blue Flowers is an eleven episode series that definitely plays the interesting field of high school romance between several girls in two different schools. Shimura’s worked on some interesting titles over the years with the Wandering Son anime adaptation really making an impression.

After a decade apart, Fumi and Akira find themselves reunited by chance. But even as the two girls rediscover their friendship, with the start of the new school year Fumi becomes romantically involved with a tall, charismatic girl named Sugimoto. Fumi soon finds herself playing a balancing act between friendship and love.
