The Seven Deadly Sins has the next run that’s called The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments, on tap for a home video release and they’ve set a familiar schedule for this kind of property. While we’ve got just under a month until the first volume arrives, the cover artwork has landed that will showcase the style of the run in general. The twenty-four episode series is getting a nine-volume release that begins on April 25th, 2018. The first six volumes have three episode each while the final three volumes have two episodes each. The regular edition DVDs are priced at 4,800 yen each and the limited edition DVDs at 5,800 yen. The Blu-ray release is limited edition only priced at 6,800 yen.
The work is based on an original story by the original creator and features a different production team. This run will have Tomokazu Tokoro directing based on the series composition by Yuniko Ayana who is also working on the scripts with Yuuichiro Kido. Keigo Sasaki returns as character design while Tomoko Sudou has joined as the chief animation director.
The first season of the series was directed by Tensai Okamura for A-1 Pictures with Shotaro Suga handling the composition while Keigo Sasaki handled the character designs for it as well as serving as chief animation director.
The manga is created by Nakaba Suzuki with twenty-nine volumes in print so far and over three million copies in circulation total. The manga series began in 2012 and Kodansha Comics is bringing the series out this year for North American fans in print while Crunchyroll has the digital chapters being published on their site.
Plot concept: When they were accused of trying to overthrow the monarchy, the feared warriors the Seven Deadly Sins were sent into exile. Princess Elizabeth discovers the truth – the Sins were framed by the king’s guard, the Holy Knights – too late to prevent them from assassinating her father and seizing the throne!
