Crunchyroll Adds ‘Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi’ For Spring 2018 Anime Lineup

Crunchyroll is set to handle the streaming of the anime adaptation of Midori Yuuma’s light novel series Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi. The show is set for April 2nd, 2018 at 10:30 am ET on the service with it set to be open to viewers in the US and Canada only. Yoshiko Okuda is directing it based on the series composition by Tomoko Konparu while Youko Satou is handling the character designs.

The Japanese caste includes Nao Tōyama as Aoi Tsubaki, Katsuyuki Konishi as Ōdanna, Shun’ichi Toki as Ginji, Ai Kakuma as Oryō, Yūma Uchida as Akatsuki, Atsushi Tamaru as Byakuya, Manaka Iwami as Chibi, Kazuhiko Inoue as Shirō Tsubaki, Reina Ueda as Shizuna, Mitsuki Nakae as Kasuga, Yūki Inoue as Sasuke, Kaito Ishikawa as Ranmaru, Takuma Terashima as Hatori,  and Daisuke Hirakawa as Tokihiko.

The novels come from Kadokawa and began in 2015 with illustrations by Laruha. Since then, it’s had seven volumes released as of 2017.

Plot Concept: After losing her grandfather, Aoi inherits his ability to see spirits known as ayakashi. Taking it all in stride, she takes to feeding the ayakashi until one day, an ogre appears demanding she pay her grandfather’s debt. His price? Her hand in marriage! Refusing this absurd offer, Aoi decides to work at the Tenjin-ya—a bed and breakfast for the ayakashi—to pay back what her family owes.
