After originally bringing out a TV special last fall, the Persona 5 the Animation: The Day Breakers property is set for an April 7th, 2018 debut and Aniplex USA already revealed their distribution of it in North America. What we’re still missing is just how long the show will run, which may now be answered with an Animate listing. While we’re waiting until more detailed information comes in with solicitations, the store is listing it as a twelve-volume release with the first volume listing two episodes. Since we can’t imagine the rest will be single episode releases, it’s easy to assume that they’ll all have two episodes, making it a twenty-four episode run. Masashi Ishihama will be directing it based on the series composition by Shinichi Inotsume. Tomomi Ishikawa is handling the character designs and A-1 Pictures is producing the animation.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Rina Satou as Makoto Niijima
  • Aoi Yuuki as Futaba Sakura
  • Haruka Tomatsu as Haru Okumura
  • Mamoru Miyano as Ryuji Sakamoto
  • Nana Mizuki as Anne Tamamaki
  • Ikue Otani s Morgana
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Yusuki Kitagawa

Property Concept: The story takes place in Tokyo, the city where people’s desires intertwine. As disturbing incidents keep occurring in town, a rumor goes around that a group of people called the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts” has been reforming corrupt adults.
