Manga Entertainment UK recently did some big price drops on Ghost in the Shell properties but now they’re looking to move something new with a Blu-ray edition of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex through Zavvi. The sets, priced at £149.99 but on sale for £99.99, is set to land on June 4th, 2018 with a thousand sets being produced – which means even at that price it’ll sell out very quickly as many Zavvi limited editions do.
The set includes:
- Packaged in a deluxe rigid box with metallic finish
- 11 blue-ray discs including 52 episodes & 3 films, housed in a custom digi-file and featuring new on-disc designs
- A treasure-trove of on-disc extras with cast & crew interviews, trailers, textless opening and TV spots
- An exclusive 140-page in-depth book, including interviews, cast & crew profiles, episode breakdowns and more
- Also features newly restored subtitles
Plot concept: Major Kusanagi and Section 9 are called in to resolve a hostage crisis at a Geisha house staffed by an android Geisha. After the crisis is averted Aramaki is approached by a friend of his in the military who reveals that one of the hostages in the Geisha house was under investigation after requesting a report detailing military actions to be taken in the event of various states of emergency. Given the sensitive nature of the case, Section 9 is therefore asked to pick up the investigation where the original team left off.
