Set for a worldwide debut on April 13th, 2018, the spring anime series Isekai Izakaya: Japanese Food From Another World has a new promotional video out of it. While including scenes from the first video and having a bit of live-action video commentary mixed into it, we get a larger look at the animation and design for the series and a lengthier listen to the opening theme song.

Katsumi Ono is directing it based on the scripts by Shin Yoshida with character designs by Mariko Ito. Kumi Ishii is handing the cuisine design.

The project is based on the light novel series by Semikawa that was done online back in 2012 with four volumes released in print form so far. A manga was kicked off in 2015 with Virginia Nitohei handling that adaptation which Udon Entertainment has licensed for English speaking audiences.

The Japanese cast includes Tomokazu Sugita as Nobuyuki “Nobu” Yazawa, Suzuko Mimori as Shinobu Senke, Atsushi Abe as Hans, Showtaro Morikubo as Nikolaus, and Katsuyuki Konishi as Berthold.

Plot ConceptOn a deserted street somewhere in Kyoto resides a Japanese style pub called “Izakaya Nobu.” But this hole in the wall holds a secret: its entrance is mysteriously linked to another world! Chief Nobuyuki Yazawa and his server, Shinobu Senke, have decided to open up business in this distant and strange land, an ancient city known as “Aitheria.” Palace guards, craftsmen, merchants, noblemen… Nobu’s doors are open for business, welcoming one and all with a cold beer and a warm meal!
