‘FLCL: Alternative’ and ‘FLCL: Progressive’ Anime Dub Casts Confirmed

With two sequel seasons announced last summer in partnership with Toonami, the FLCL property brought out a lot of information recently for the Progressive and Alternative six-episode season. The first series is set for a June 2nd, 2018 debut while the second is set for a September debut and we now have the English language dub cast for both of them below.

Kazuya Tsurumaki is supervising both projects with Katsuyki Motohiro as the chief director while Hideto Iwai is working the scripts for it. With each project there’s a different group involved with them on an episodic basis with:

The FLCL Progressive directors are Kazuto Arai, Toshihisa Kaiya, Yuuki Ogawa, Yoshihide Ibata, Kei Suezawa, and Hiroshi Ikehata with Chikashi Kubota handling the character designs and animation by Production I.G.

The English cast includes Allegra Clark as Jinyu, Kari Wahlgren as Haruhara Haruko, Robbie Daymond as Yoshimi Ide, Xanthe Huynh as Hidomi, Christine Marie Cabanos as Aiko, J. David Brimmer as Eye Patch, Jason Griffith as Marurao, Jon Allen as Goro Mori, Julie Ann Taylor as Hinae, Steve Kramer as Tonkichi, and Yuri Lowenthal as Marco Nogata.

The Japanese cast includes Megumi Hayashibara as Haruha Raharu, Miyuki Sawashiro as Jinyu, Inori Minase as Hidomi, Jun Fukuyama as Yoshimi Iide, Tomo Muranaka as Gorō Mori, Masatomo Nakazawa as Nogata Maruko, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Aiko, Kikuko Inoue as Hinae, Kouji Ohkura as Masurao, Takayuki Sugo as Eyepatch, Jin Urayama as Tonkichi, and Reiko Suzuki as Tami Hanae.

FLCL: Progressive Concept: It tells the story of 14-year-old Hidomi, her classmate Ide, and two otherworldly beings, “Jinyu” and “Haruha Raharu,” who are determined to unlock their hidden potential. Mixed up in this is an all-powerful force known as “ATOMSK,” a gorgeous vintage car… and a certain Vespa Scooter.

The FLCL Alternative directors are Yutaka Uemura and Kiyotaka Suzuki with character designs by Yuuichi Takahashi. Animation is being produced by Production I.G, NUT, and REVOROOT.

ThE English cast includes Kari Wahlgren as Haruhara Haruko, Megan Harvey as Kana Kawamoto, Ben Pronsky as Aida, Erica Lindbeck as Hijiri Yashima, Erica Schroeder as Maki Kitaki, Erick Abbate as Bunta Kawamoto, Marianne Miller as Mitsuru Motoyama, Marieve Herington as Tomomi Heta, Max Mittelman as Kado Sasaki, Patrick Seitz as Kan Sudo, Ray Chase as Tabata Kanda,  and Steven Jay Blum as Yoga Dennis.

The Japanese cast includes Mayumi Shintani as Haruhara Haruko, Karen Miyama as Kana Kawamoto, Yuri Yoshida as Tomomi Heta, Riho Iida as Hijiri Yashima, Mutsumi Tamura as Mitsuru Motoyama, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kan Sudō, Takuma Nagatsuka as Kado Sasaki, Ryota Suzuki as Ben Sōta, Miki Itou as Shizuka Kawamoto, Maho Masaka as Bunta Kawamoto, Katsuji Mori as Yōga Dennis, Kaya Matsutani as Maki Kitaki, and Yutaka Aoyama as Tabata Kanda.

FLCL: Alternative Concept: The show focuses on the misadventures of 17-year-old Kana, a high school junior who spends her days hanging out with her besties, Mossan, Hijiri, and Pets. They live unremarkable lives, until the day a Mecha falls out of the sky, along with a strange woman named “Haruko.” Her plans for Kana and her friends involve the force known as “ATOMSK.” Kana will have to risk everything to decide whether or not to help… like she really has a choice!
