Funimation Adds Subtitled ‘Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru’ Anime Clip

Funimation brought out the first season of Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru back on February 13th, 2018 but they didn’t do a lot of promotion for it. While it is a bilingual release and we usually get dub clips, they’ve added a subtitled clip as well for the second season with the arrival of a harem of butler swordboys. The first season set clocks in at $64.98. Check it out below!

This series was animated by Doga Kobo and was directed by Takashi Naoya from the scripts by Pierre Sugiura while Junichiro Taniguchi worked on the character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Yasusada Yamatonokami, Toshiki Masuda as Kiyomitsu Kashu., Daiki Yamashita as Imanotsurugi, Reona Irie as Toushirou Maeda, Tarusuke Shingaki as Heshikiri Hasebe, Junji Majima as Aoe Nikkari, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kotetsu Hachisuka, Kento Hama as Yoshiyuki Mutsunoka, Soma Saito as Toushirou Hamazuo and Kaito Ishikawa as Kanesada Kasen.

The series has set Jad Saxton as the ADR director working with scriptwriter Clint Bickham, ADR engineer James Baker, and mix engineer Neal Malley. The cast includes Dallas Reid as Yamatonokami Yasusada, Garrett Storms as Kashuu Kiyomitsu, Aaron Roberts as Heshikiri Hasebe, Anastasia Munoz as Imanotsurugi, Justin Duncan as Ishikirimaru, Robby Gemaehlich as Nikkari Aoe, Oscar Seung as Kasen Kanesada, Ian Sinclair as Hachisuka Kotetsu, Jason Liebrecht as Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Ryan Reynolds as Maeda Toushirou, Blake Shepard as Shishiou, Derek Snow as Yagen Toushirou, Rachel Robinson as Namazuo Toushirou, Marcus Stimac as Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Clifford Chapin as Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Ian Sinclair as Souza Samonji, and Leah Clark as Gokotai.

The game itself kicked off in January 2015 and was developed by Nitroplus and DMM Games.

Plot concept: In the year 2205, protecting history becomes the task of a boisterous band of swords that are brought to life including the famous Yamatonokami Yasusada and Kashuu Kiyomitsu. Between battles with historical revisionists, they lead charming daily lives at a certain citadel. But Yasusada wishes for the one thing that he knows is taboo—to see his master again.
