Seven Seas Acquires ‘Satoko and Nada’ Manga

2 min read

Seven Seas Entertainment has a great pickup that’ll be out later this year with the acquisition of Satoko and Nada by Yupechika. The series is being done as single volume releases that begin on October 9th, 2018 priced at $12.99 per volume. Serialized in Twi 4 magazine, it has two volumes in print since beginning last year.

“This manga is a really special story, and we’re excited to bring it to more audiences in English,” says Seven Seas Publisher Jason DeAngelis. “Publishing manga in North America is already a cross-cultural experience, but this manga expands on that theme even further: it’s about two women from two very different countries, one of whom practices Islam, living together in America. It’s a funny, relatable series about celebrating our differences while laughing at all the things we have in common.”

Plot Concept: Satoko, who is Japanese, has a new roommate in America: a Saudi Arabian woman named Nada, who practices Islam and wears a hijab. While under the same roof, Satoko and Nada learn how to live together with very different customs and still have all the fun young women crave! Through mutual respect—and the hilarious adventures of their daily life—Satoko and Nada prove that friendship knows no borders.
