Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten from the March 2018 installment,The Frog’s Repayment is a sixteen page story from creator Ushino Kandume, who has six other works on the service. This marked my first experience with this particular creator and it’s one I can definitely see revisiting. Kandume’s artwork is very appealing here with the character designs but also the setting, since it’s a bit dreamlike in how it’s approached but given enough detail to get it to stand out nicely. The story itself is a touch light when I think it could have been a bit more but it’s almost kind of an entry level hentai piece when you get down to it.
The story focuses on a young man (who looks post-college, which is a nice plus) who has found himself stranded on a small island. It’s been a week since he was shipwrecked here and he knows that the end is coming and is dealing with the regrets. One of those regrets is that he would naturally like to have sex one more time with a cute girl. Cue up the cute girl who arrives almost on demand, though he at least realizes that there may be something going on here as the small frog statue that was the sole thing on the island that was manmade has suddenly disappeared. Sometime you just gotta go with it though and as she takes him to a small oasis further in the island that wasn’t there before, wordlessly, he just goes with it.
And why not? You partially expect that he’s dying and just hallucinating and it’s easy to run with it because of that. Each time he thrusts you can imagine that he’s pushing into the sand face down, the same as when he performs oral on her that way. The idea of his mind creating this illusion is fun if you don’t think of the fact that he’s more than likely dying. The sex as it progresses is pretty nice even if it doesn’t get too graphic, making it a first-timer kind of property to check out, but the girl is really beautifully designed and there’s a kind of happiness and joy to her interactions that gives it a good bit of life as the two just frolic in the oasis. Again, yeah, he may be dying, it may be a frog statue come to life, but at the end of your life this may not seem like a bad option.
In Summary
After reading a bit more intense material as of late, The Frog’s Repayment is a rather enjoyable light piece of hentai that definitely clicked for me. With a cute gag piece at the end that kind of makes me wish for a second installment just to see what kind of wacky situations it could go with, this has all the makes of your standard fable that just included some very enjoyable and happy sex with it. .Kandume’s pacing is solid throughout, though it could have used a few more pages for both character material and for some additional sexy times, but it’s an enjoyable little romp on a desert island story.
