Funimation Acquires Four ‘Free!’ Anime Feature Films

More of the swimming boys animated material is coming to North America as Funimation has announced the acquisition of the four feature films for Free!. The acquisition includes:

  • Free! Timeless Medley – Kizuna
  • Free! Timeless Medley – Yakusoku
  • High Speed! – Free! Starting Days
  • Free! Take Your Marks

With home video releases planned for all of them, there will be a one-night screening in theaters for Free! Take Your Marks on March 14th, 2018 where it’ll be in its original Japanese language with English subtitles and include the animated greeting done by the characters for the Japanese theatrical release. Tickets go on Sale on February 13th,2018 and theater availability will be ready by then.

All of whom have been anxious to see more,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation. “Our event style release of ’Free! -Take Your Marks-’ provides fans not only a unique opportunity to experience Free! for the first-time ever on the big screen but also a chance to quench their thirst for the show ahead of this summer’s premiere of Season 3. I encourage Free! fans to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee they don’t miss-out on this special one-night-only event on March 14th.”
