Funimation Adds ‘Izetta: The Last Witch’ Anime DVD/BD Preorder Dub Trailer

Funimation has a very fun new release coming out next month with the February 27th, 2018 release of Izetta: The Last Witch. The bilingual DVD/BD release is priced at $64.98 and has the complete twelve episode run. At the moment, no extras are listed for it and it doesn’t look like it’ll be a digital copy release either. The trailer, however, gives us a good handle on the show with its design and intent that makes it easy to share and showcase for those that may be into it.

Masaya Fujimori directed the show based on the scripts from Hiroyuki Yoshino while BUNBUN worked on character designs with Yuu Yamashita adapting them while also serving as the chief animation director. The series was animated at Ajiado.

The cast for the series includes Himika Akaneya as Izetta, Saori Hayami as Fiine, Aya Uchida as Bianca, Nao Tōyama as Lotte, Kana Hanazawa as Elvira, Junichi Suwabe as Belkman, Hiroki Takahashi as Sieg, Natsuki Hanae as Rickert, KENN as Hans, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Bassler, Ryōtarō Okiayu as Helman, Junji Majima as Tobias, Koji Yusa as Görtz, Daisuke Hirakawa as Elliot, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Rudolph and Kouichi Yamadera as Otto.

The series English language adaptation was directed by Kyle Phillips based on the scripts from Jeramey Kratz and head writer Adrian Cook. The main cast includes Mallorie Rodak as Princess Finé, Skyler McIntosh as Izetta, John Burgmeier as Berkman, Derick Snow as Rickert, Cole Brown as Lord Redford, Michael Johnson as Goerz, Ben Bryant as Hermann, and Kyle Phillips as Tobias.

The opening theme song “Cross the Line” is being performed by bless4 while thee ending theme song “Hikari Aru Basho e” is being performed by May’n.

Plot concept: Set in the wake of Germania’s 1939 invasion of its European neighbors, the series follows Izetta, the last of a clan of witches, who had been travelling in hiding across Europe with her grandmother from a young age and Fine, the smart and gentle heir to the leadership of the small Alpine state of Altstadt – struggling to remain independent as it prepares for invasion.
