While there’s always a chance for a smaller film not promoted as much at the moment to end up dominating the discourse along the way or something else to surprise, usually what we get out of these yearly polls that Fandango runs tend to work out. With a larger base of opt-in polling done, the movie ticket service has been doing lots of tracking and has revealed what the top ten most anticipated films of 2018 are and my inner geeky child just can’t believe it for so many reasons:
- Avengers: Infinity War (May 4)
- Black Panther (Feb. 16)
- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 22)
- Untitled Deadpool sequel (June 1)
- Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25)
- Incredibles 2 (June 15)
- Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Nov. 16)
- A Wrinkle in Time (March 9)
- X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Nov. 2)
- Ocean’s 8 (June 8)
The article about it also breaks out rising male and female starts, established ones, family movies, and a few other things as well. But what’s broken out here in the top ten feels pretty representative of what a lot of people are keen on and what kind of marketing deluges will be coming in waves this year.
