The fall 2017 short-form series Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara, aka Love is Like a Cocktail, is getting a surprising kind of home video release. The thirteen episode series is getting three Blu-ray releases priced at 7,400 yen each beginning on January 24th, 2018. With it just under a month away we now have a look at the first cover for it that’s definitely nicely done. The episodes will be done in a 5/4/4 format and it’s listed as being about 15 minutes or so per disc but with 40 minutes of extras in the form of cast talks. It’s an expanded and pricey edition that’s very surprising for a short-form series.
Creators in Pack are involved in the production as it was announced by Hisayoshi Hirasawa, who has directed a few shows for the studio, and producer Taiichi Hatanaka.
The Japanese cast includes Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Sora Mizusawa, Eri Kitamura as Chisato Mizusawa, Ayaka Asai as Yui Shiraishi, and Arisa Nakata as Koharu Sakurai.
The manga has been running on Yawaraka Spirits since 2015 and has six print volumes out as of May 12th, 2016.
Plot Concept: Chisato Mizusawa is a reserved but excellent and pretty chief in her company. She has a secret that only her husband Sora knows, which is she likes drinking alcohol, and she can become very cute when she is drunk! Even tonight, she gets relaxed (with the phrase “Shifuku~”) and drunk with the cocktail Sora makes♥ It’s a “Yoidere (Drunken Dere)” cocktail comedy of Japan’s closest husband and wife.
