Paramount Sets ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Feature Film Plans

1 min read

With the stigma of the 80’s long since passed and some respectability in place for the fantasy genre after Lord of the Ringsit’s still kind of nuts that the ability to make a good fantasy movie hasn’t really hit. With no thanks to the Warcraft movie, viewers haven’t had a lot of good material to try and engage with, which is extra frustrating considering how many worlds, stories, and characters have been built over the years. That we don’t have a proper Dragonlance series or project alone is kind of nuts.

While it’s lain fallow for quite a few years, Paramount’s looking to try and get the Dungeons & Dragons property moving again with a new feature film that’s set to open on July 23rd, 2021. With that as far away as it is it’s easy to imagine that they don’t have anything planned beyond a date and a desire to have a film. The reveal didn’t include anything in terms of creative so it’s going to be interesting to see who they can get in there to handle this.
