2 min read

Viz Media brought out the first volume of Takako Shimura’s work Sweet Blue Flowers back in September and ahead of the second volume out next week they’re doing some additional promotion for it. That’s come in the form of the rare but always welcome manga trailer that showcases the property and gives you a feel for the style and flow of it. The series began back in 2004 in Manga Erotics F magazine and finished up in 2013 with eight volumes total. It spawned an anime adaptation back in 2009 from JC Staff.

You can read our review of the anime DVD collection here.

Plot concept: Tears have always come easily to Fumi, but as a child she could always count on her best friend, Akira, to cheer her up. After a decade apart, Fumi and Akira find themselves reunited by chance. But even as the two girls rediscover their friendship, with the start of the new school year Fumi becomes romantically involved with a tall, charismatic girl named Sugimoto. Fumi soon finds herself playing a balancing act between friendship and love.
