Now here’s a way to spend some downtime this weekend as Crunchyroll has added the complete Excel Saga series streaming thanks to their partnership with Funimation. The show is in its original Japanese language with English subtitles and is available to viewers in the US and Canada.

Directed by Shinichi Watanabe, Jigoku Gumi worked on the series composition based on the manga by Koushi Rikdo. Satoshi Ishino handled the character designs and it was animated by JC Staff.

The Japanese cast includes Kotono Mitsuishi as Excel, Omi Minami as Hyatt, Satomi Koorogi as Menchi, and Takehito Koyasu as Ilpalazzo. The English cast includes Hilary Haag as Menchi,
Jason Douglas as Ilpalazzo, Jessica Calvello as Excel for the first half and Larissa Wolcott as Excel for the second half, and Monica Rial as Hyatt.

Plot Concept: Excel’s in a secret organization. She wants to impress her boss by conquering the city. And every episode of her show, Excel Saga, is a mega-random mash-up of stuff that rules. It’s like a sci-fi movie full of drunken kittens. It’s like a romantic comedy about zombies that drive laser motorcycles made of flaming glitter. And when you smoosh it all together? BOOM. Excel Saga!
