Bandai Visual brought a new priced-down release last year with the Ashita no Joe 2 Movie making its way out. That brought a good savings for fans but now it looks like we’re going to get an even higher quality edition out there back at the higher price as 20th Century Fox Japan has solicited a 4K UHD release. The film is scheduled for an April 27th, 2018 release priced at7,800 yen.
Extras for the release include a comparison piece, the theatrical trailers, eight TV spots, and the clean ending.
The film was originally released in 1980 and was directed by Osamu Dezaki at Mushi Production.
Plot concept: An abridged remake of the first Ashita no Joe TV series, released in 1980 to provide back-story for the second TV series to new fans who were not familiar with the first TV series or the manga.
