‘Gotham by Gaslight’ Feature Release Scheduled With New Trailer

2 min read

One of my more anticipated home video releases for next year is the newly dated February 6th, 2018 debut of Gotham by Gaslight. Warner Bros. Animation has now set that date and given us a good look at the packaging for it while also confirming the cast. The project will see the digital side priced at $19.99 in HD on January 23rd, 2018 while February 6th will see the UHD/BD combo at $39.99, the DVD/BD combo at $24.98, and the DVD at $19.98.

Directed by Sam Liu with a screenplay by James Krieg, the film stars Bruce Greenwood as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Jennifer Carpenter as Selina Kyle, Anthony Head as Alfred Pennyworth, Chris Cox, John DiMaggio, David Forseth, Grey Griffin, Bob Joles, Yuri Lowenthal, Lincoln Melcher, Scott Patterson, William Salyers, Tara Strong, Bruce Timm, and Kari Wuhrer.

Considered to be the first Elseworlds branded book before it was a brand, the original graphic novel was created by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola where it placed Batman in the 1800’s going up against Jack the Ripper.

Plot Concept: In an age of mystery and superstition, how would the people of Gotham react to a weird creature of the night, a bat-garbed vigilante feared by the guilty and the innocent alike? The very first Elseworlds tale re-imagines the Dark Knight detective in Victorian times and pits him against the infamous murderer Jack the Ripper.
