Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
While I’m enjoying this season more than what I’ve seen in the past, Ame-Con!! is still largely struggling with its format and, in a way, not sure what it wants to be within that timeframe. With this episode, Nozomu is doing his best to try and get the gent behind Kau Coffee to let him sell things there, but he’s being told that he really needs to up his game in general. What they do is head out into the heat to sell some ice coffee in order to get Nozomu to think about how it is he’s dealing with the public and why things aren’t selling. It’s a little more complicated than as presented of course but it’s something that at least challenges Nozomu to think about what he’s doing and figuring out new and better ways of doing it that serves the market.
In Summary:
Though Nozomu doesn’t make any real headway here with what he needs to do he’s at least getting a clue and trying to figure out, with some significant nudging. What I like with this episode is that it does get us outside a bit and shows us some of what the area is like that Nozomu has to deal with. Part of it may simply be cultural to some degree but there’s a lot to learn and it becomes clear very quickly that while he may be good at running the shop, marketing it to the customers is a lot harder and he’s going to have to work at it.
