The spring 2017 anime series Akashic Records is having its home video release plans handled by Kadokawa and they’ve set a familiar pattern. With the fifth volume out in Japan later this month, we now have a look at the finalized packaging design for the volume in a larger size. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release on DVD and Blu-ray priced at 6,000 yen and 7,000 yen respectively that began on June 28th, 2017. They’re listed as limited editions with two discs with a bonus disc included with each. Check the full calendar of latest details below.
The series was directed by Minato Kazuto based on the series composition and scripts from Touko Machida. Satoshi Kimura served as the character designer and Makoto Iino as the chief animation director with it being animated at LIDENFILMS.
The Japanese cast includes Soma Saito as Glenn Radars, Akane Fujita as Sistine Fibel, Yume Miyamoto as Rumia Tingel, Ari Ozawa as Ryiel Rayford, Hiroki Takahashi as Albert Frazer and Eri Kitamura as Celica Arfonia.
Konomi Suzuki performed the opening theme song “Blow Out” while the ending theme song “Precious You” was performed by the three main actresses, Akane Fujita, Yume Miyamoto, and Ari Ozawa.
The series began in 2014 and comes from writer Tarou Hitsuji with illustration by Kurone Mishima. A manga adaptation also kicked off previously from AosaTsunemi that’s serialized in Shounen Ace. Five volumes have been produced so far.
