Pretty much my favorite show after the original six-episode OVA series, Tenchi Muyo! GXP is now streaming on the Crunchyroll service thanks to their partnership with Funimation. The twenty-six episode series is available in its original Japanese language with English subtitles while the dub remains on Funimation’s site. Availability for it is pretty much what you’d expect for a show of its age and being split among different licensors over a decade ago with it open to viewers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Directed by Shinichi Watanabe based on the series composition by Yousuke Kuroda, Atsushi Okuda handled the character designs with AIC handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Shigeru Mogi as Seina Yamada, Aya Hisakawa as Ryoko Balta, Kumi Sakuma as Kiriko Masaki, Mariko Suzuki as Amane Kaunaq, Mitsuaki Madono as Seiryo Tennan, Nana Mizuki as Neju Na Melmas, Niina Kumagaya as Elma, Sakiko Tamagawa as Airi Masaki, Shinichi Watanabe as NB, Tomoko Kaneda as Fuku, Toshihiko Nakajima as Da Ruma, Yukari Nozawa as Seto Kamiki Jurai, and Yuki Matsuda as Tarant Shank.

Plot Concept: Seina Yamada is unlucky… so unlucky that when he stumbles upon a recruiter looking for his senpai Tenchi he gets taken instead. Forced into the Galaxy Police, his luck begins to change. A natural to randomly jumping near pirates, he is assigned his own decoy to draw out pirates. His luck brings him into the lives of four women who have a habit of cancelling out his bad luck, turning it into good. Armed with this luck, they pilot the most powerful ships in the Tenchi Universe to defeat the Da Ruma pirates. Now the only uncertainty is whether the sexy Amane Kaunaq, a former model turned into a GP detective, sturdy Kiriko Masaki, who has known Seina for years, the mysterious Ryoko Balta, a former pirate named after the legendary one, or the child-like Neju Na Melmas, a powerful 2000-year-old priestess, will win Seina.
