‘Rumbling Hearts’ Anime Arrives On Crunchyroll

Rumbling HeartsAnother blast from the past has surfaced on Crunchyroll thanks to their partnership with Funimation as they’re now streaming the Rumbling Hearts anime series. The show is available in full in its original Japanese language with English subtitles while the dubbed version remains on Funimation’s site. Since this one goes back to 2003 and there are various companies that picked up international rights over the years, availability is limited to the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

The series was directed by Tetsuya Watanabe based on the series composition by Kenichi Kanemaki and had Yoko Kikuchi as the character designer and chief animation director. Studio Fantasia produced the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Kishō Taniyama as Takayuki Narumi, Minami Kuribayashi as Haruka Suzumiya, Tomoko Ishibashi as Mitsuki Hayase, Kiyomi Asai as Ayu Daikuuji, Kyōko Yoshida as Mayu Tamano, Masaki Andou as Shinji Taira, and Tomomi Uehara as Akane Suzumiya.

Plot Concept: Meet four fast high school friends – Haruka, Takayuki, Mitsuki and Shinji. Life’s promise shines brightly on them, until an accident leaves Haruka in a coma. Her boyfriend, Takayuki, can’t forgive himself and seems determined to follow Haruka into a comatose state. Mitsuki dedicates her life to taking care of him, and the pair fall into a self-destructive relationship floundering in guilt.
