We learned in September that another recap film project was in the works with Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru announced. Set to arrive on December 1st, 2017 and running for two weeks ahead of the second season that arrives in January 2018, the film will get the subtitle of Makui Kaisouroku and we now have a new promotional video to highlight it and some of the goods that can be found during the exhibition. The second season recently got an official name with Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru and has revealed that Chiaki Yamada will be taking over as the director for it.
This series was animated by Doga Kobo and was directed by Takashi Naoya from the scripts by Pierre Sugiura while Junichiro Taniguchi worked on the character designs.
The Japanese cast includes Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Yasusada Yamatonokami, Toshiki Masuda as Kiyomitsu Kashu., Daiki Yamashita as Imanotsurugi, Reona Irie as Toushirou Maeda, Tarusuke Shingaki as Heshikiri Hasebe, Junji Majima as Aoe Nikkari, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kotetsu Hachisuka, Kento Hama as Yoshiyuki Mutsunoka, Soma Saito as Toushirou Hamazuo and Kaito Ishikawa as Kanesada Kasen.
The game itself kicked off in January 2015 and was developed by Nitroplus and DMM Games.
Plot concept: The year is 2205. The “historical revisionists” have begun attacks on the past in their plot to change history. The Saniwa, who have been charged with protecting history, can imbue life into objects. Strongest among these are the Tōken Danshi. The story centers around their cheerful lives.
