What They Say
Although Nao Kogure was once afraid of the delinquent Taiga Onise, she was soon touched by his kind soul. Their close friends, Kayo Yashiro and Ayumu Misaki, have been flirting and fighting together for a while, but does Kayo want Ayumu to be her boyfriend? Find out what the future holds for everyone!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Yashiro and Misaki are studying together in the library. Yashiro notices that Misaki has grown and when she goes to check their height, she kisses him. She realizes suddenly that she actually does like Misaki and ignores him as she tries to process what she did. Nao encourages Yashiro to confess her feelings and she finally does and kisses him again!

Nao and Taiga celebrate their first anniversary and inadvertently see Nao’s uncle, Sou, and Taiga’s mom together. Thinking there might be a romantic interlude they find it hard to intrude, but eventually find out they are just acquaintances, because Sou says he isn’t interested in love. Then an old classmate of Sou’s shows up at the café. The classmate, Aoi, was Sou’s girlfriend. She has kept feelings for him all this time, but only recently found out that Sou broke up with her, because he decided to dedicate himself to raising Nao. They part amicably, but Nao goes after Aoi encouraging her to stop by occasionally. Aoi refuses stating she wants to respect Sou’s decision and move on herself.

Nao’s mind is on Sou and even confronts him about her thoughts. He again refuses to think about love until she is grown up. Though Sou’s love life is not up for discussion, Nao does her best to try being more supportive of Sou and becoming someone reliable. Cooking and cleaning are not her forte, but she knows eventually she will need to do these things on her own. She ends up spraining her ankle in gym and Taiga brings her home. Quietly Taiga tries to figure why Sou is so against love, when Sou admits he is actually lonely and really wanted Nao to rely on him a bit longer. After Taiga and Sou’s discussion, Taiga admits he plans to make Nao his wife. With Nao being spoken for, Sou decides it’s okay to rekindle his romance with Aoi.

And for the finale, there’s a six-year time jump to when Taiga proposes to Nao!

In Summary
It’s the final volume of the series and it was wrapped up just as cute as the rest of the series. I’m really glad there was a little time jump to see the proposal and I’m equally glad there was no more of the series! That may sound awful, but it’s actually a compliment. Any more of this story and it would be spread to thin with too much filler. This tied up all the lose ends, gave readers the happy ending they were looking for and did it just the right time.

This still remains a series for those that like their manga super sweet. The main characters are innocent and pure through and through. So, make sure this is your thing before committing to this series. If it isn’t skip it. There are many, many other shojo titles out there that are right for you. However, I liked this series. It may not be something I would marathon, but it was a good dose of sugary cuteness every now and then.
