MVM Entertainment Acquires ‘UQ Holder!’ Anime Rights

MVM Entertainment has announced their acquisition of the UK rights for the fall 2017 anime series UQ Holder! with home video plans to come after the Japanese releases have settled. The series is currently available for streaming in that market through HiDive and Sentai Filmworks has picked up the North American home video rights for it. Anime Strike is currently simulcasting the show in that region as well.

Yousuke Suzuki directing it based on the series composition by Ken Akatsu and Shogo Yasutagawa. Masahiro Fujii is on board with character designs while JC Staff will be handling the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Yuka Takakura as Touta Konoe, Yuki Matsuoka as Yukihime, Yūki Hirose as Kurōmaru Tokisaka, Rina Satou as Negi Springfield, Ai Kayano as Kirie Sakurame, Yui Ogura as Karin, Sayaka Harada as Shinobu Yūki, and Akari Kitō as Mizore Yukihiro.

Plot Concept: Negi Springfield, the boy wizard of the hit manga Negima!, fought and won many battles. Now it is decades later and Negi’s grandson(!), a little boy named Touta, dreams of leaving his quiet village and heading to the City. But first he must defeat his teacher… the immortal vampire, Evangeline! Witness the dramatic beginning of a futuristic battle fantasy
