The crowdfunding campaign that ran previously that’s bringing Skip Beat! to North America continues to update with new details and options. The latest piece to arrive digs into the arrival of some samples from the manufacturer of what the packaging will look like, which is definitely pretty sweet looking and will delight fans that have gone all in on this expansive and fantastic project.
Skip Beat! was produced by Hal Film Maker and aired on TV TOKYO from October 2008 to March 2009 and currently streams on Crunchyroll. The anime is based on the on-going shojo manga by Yoshiki Nakamura, published in Japan in “Hana to Yume” and in North America by VIZ Media. Pied Piper, Inc. licensed the anime from TV TOKYO.
The English dub cast includes Caitlin Glass as Kyoko Mogami, Erica Lindbeck as Kanae Kotonami, Grant George as Sho Fuwa, Robbie Daymond as Ren Tsuruga, Vic Mignogna as Yukihito Yashiro , Richard Epcar as Lory Takarada, Mela Lee as Maria Takarada, Christine Marie Cabanos as Mimori Nanokura, Cristina Vee as Erika Koenji, Kyle McCarley as Hikaru Ishibashi, Todd Haberkorn as Shinichi Ishibashi, and Bryce Papenbrook as Yuusei Ishibashi. The dub is executive produced by Mela Lee and is being recorded at Jason Charles Miller’s Central Command Studios in North Hollywood, and Cristina Vee is the casting director.
The supporting cast includes Keith Silverstein as Takenori Sawara, Karen Strassman as Shoko Aoki, Dorothy Fahn as Kuniko (ep 1), Kimiko Kamio (ep 4), Yoshimi (ep 9), Kaiji Tang as Matsushima (eps 2-3, 8, 14) / “Love Me” Male Voice, Joe Zieja as Nakazawa (eps 2-3, 5), Kira Buckland as Ruriko Matsunai (eps 5-7), Erika Harlacher as Eiko (eps 8-9), Jason C. Miller as Ushio Kurosaki (eps 10-12), Nathan Sharp as Imai (eps 12-14), Lauren Landa as Nao (eps 12-13) / Yumiko (eps 15-16), Kyle Hebert as Funada (eps 12-14) / Tecchin (ep 14), Kate Davis as Haruki Asami (eps 17-19), Erin Fitzgerald as Hiroko Iizuka (eps 21-23) and Chris Patton as Hiroaki Ogata (eps 20-25).

Plot Concept: Bright, diligent, and yet naïve 16-year-old Kyouko Mogami works hard to support the career and dreams of her childhood friend, crush, and rising pop icon, Shoutarou Fuwa. Toiling endlessly at burger joints and tea ceremonies, the innocent Kyouko remains unaware that day in day out, all her tireless efforts have been taken for granted, until, one day, she finds out that her beloved Shou sees her as nothing but a free servant. Shocked, heartbroken and enraged, she vows to take revenge on the rookie star by entering the ruthless world of entertainment herself. As she steps into this new life, Kyouko will face new challenges as well as people who will push her out of her comfort zone.
