We learned back in March that an anime adaptation of Hari Tokeino’s manga series Gakuen Babysitters was in the works and we’ve gotten some decent bits of information over the last few months. The latest is now a formal confirmation from the official site that the series will be a part of the winter 2018 season with a January premiere scheduled. Shuusei Morishita is directing the series based on the series composition by Yuuko Kakihara. Mina Oosawa is on board as the character designer with Brain’s Base handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kōtarō Nishiyama as Ryūichi Kashima
  • Nozomi Furuki as Kotarō Kashima
  • Yuichiro Umehara as Hayato Kamitani
  • Yuko Sanpei as Taka Kamitani

The manga began in 2009 and has fourteen volumes released so far. A drama CD was produced back in 2011, though we don’t expect the cast from that to surface with this anime adaptation.

Plot Concept: After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare’s new babysitter.
