2 min read

Genocidal Organ Japanese CoverAniplex Japan previously set their release for the third film in the Project Itoh release of adaptations with Genocidal Organ and ahead of that they’re doing the best to draw in some new fans for it. Through the noitaminA YouTube channel, they’re now streaming about fourteen minutes of the film in its original Japanese with no subtitles. It’s definitely a good way to get a feel for the style and animation for it and whether it’s up your alley or not.

The film is coming out in a regular edition DVD for 4,800 yen, a regular edition Blu-ray at 5,800 yen, and a limited edition Blu-ray at 9,800 yen. They’re all set to land on October 25th, 2017. The limited edition comes with a booklet and soundtrack CD.

Ahead of that release we now have what looks to be the cover artwork for it that’s definitely distinctive and not like most other shows on the shelf these days, which makes it all the more attention getting.

Shuko Murase was involved in working on the script while redjuice provided the original character designs for it. EGOIST is on board to do the theme song for it. No run time has been revealed for the film yet. The production was taken over by a new studio called Geno Studio.

The cast includes Yūichi Nakamura as Clavis Shepherd, Satoshi Mikami as Williams, Yuuki Kaji as Alex, Kaito Ishikawa as Realand, Akio Ohtsuka as Rockwell, Sanae Kobayashi as Lucia and Takahiro Sakurai as John Paul.

Project Itoh is the pen name of Satoshi Ito, a 34-year-old science fiction novelist in Japan who died in 2009 but had some strong works. Some of his works are being brought to life in anime form with Genocidal Organ, Empire of Corpses and Harmony, all three of which have been released in North America by the book imprint of Viz Media, Haikasoru. Ito wrote for only two years before his death but left behind some fascinating works to be adapted.

Plot Concept: The war on terror exploded, literally, the day Sarajevo was destroyed by a homemade nuclear device. The leading democracies transformed into total surveillance states, and the developing world has drowned under a wave of genocides. The mysterious American John Paul seems to be behind the collapse of the world system, and it’s up to intelligence agent Clavis Shepherd to track John Paul across the wreckage of civilizations, and to find the true heart of darkness—a genocidal organ.
