Ninja Nonsense Blu-ray CoverAfter announcing it this past May as being in the works, Nozomi Entertainment has schedule the Blu-ray collection for the Ninja Nonsense series, marking its first time on the format in North America. The release is scheduled for December 5th, 2017 priced at $49.99 for the twelve episode run that’s originally known as 2 X 2 = Shinobuden based on the manga by Ryoichi Koga. The bilingual set will come with liner notes, the clean opening and closings, TV spots, an art gallery, and the full size closing piece.

Originally airing in the summer 2004 season, the English dub was produced by NYAV Post with Mar Diraison and Michael Sinterniklaas directing. The cast includes Dave Willis as Sasuke (1-3), Jason Linder as Sasuke (4 – 12),  Emily Blau as Shinobu, Meredith Zeitlin as Kaede Shiranui, Sean Schemmel as Onsokumaru, Veronica Taylor as Miyabi and Zoe Martin as Kaede Shiranui.

Plot concept: Take one totally cute (and naive) ninja-girl trainee, add a ninja horde under the tutelage of the weirdest headmaster ever – a strange, yellow, spherical, pudgy… creature… named Onsokumaru – and you get the kind of “super-explosive ninja insanity” that can only be found in what’s been called “the runaway nuclear reactor” of anime comedies!
