The summer 2017 season for Hell Girl, the fourth season of the property, has scheduled the anime DVD and Blu-ray releases for the show. The series is set for just a six-episode summer run of suspense and horror so we’re getting two releases with three episodes per disc. With the first volume just released, we now have a look at it in full as well as the wraparound for the second volume due out on September 27th, 2017. Both are listed as limited editions with the DVD priced at 5,300 yen each while the Blu-ray’s are 6,300 yen each.
Takahiro Omori directed it with Kenichi Kanemaki on the series composition and Mariko Oka on the character designs. Studen DEEN animated it.
The original manga ran for nine volumes between 2005 and 2008 and a couple of sequel series have come as well that ran for a good bit of time.
The Japanese cast includes Mamiko Noto as Ai Enma, Takayuki Sugo as Wanyuudou, Takako Honda as Hone-Onna, Masaya Matsukaze as Ren Ichimoku, Hekiru Shiina as Yamawaro, Kanako Sakai as Kikuri and Misaki Watada as Michiru.
Property Concept: Have you heard of Jigoku Tsuushin (Hell Correspondence)? Those with a powerful grudge may only access this mysterious website at midnight, allowing them to enter anyone’s name and have that person be ferried straight to hell. Ai Enma, the Hell Girl, will not judge whether or not the chosen target deserves punishment; she will merely exact revenge on them for you. Not much is known about this young girl other than that she swiftly carries out her tasks with the help of three straw dolls. There is just one catch, however—as payment for carrying out such a request, the user must condemn themselves to an afterlife in hell.
