Anime Limited is still firming up some of their fourth quarter plans but an early listing on Amazon has revealed some movement for the Chrono Crusade title. Originally released by ADV Films UK there and currently in-license by Funimation in North America, the distributor is looking at a December 4th, 2017 release for it as a DVD-0nly set. The show last saw release in the UK back in 2007.
Based on the manga by Daisuki Moriyama, it was originally released by ADV Films after its debut in 2003 and was acquired by Funimation later. The series is directed by Yuu Kou based on the screenplay by Kiyoko Yoshimura. Kazuya Kuroda served as the character designer and chief animation director with it animated by Gonzo.
The Japanese cast includes Akira Ishida as Chrono, Tomoko Kawakami as Rosette Christopher, Eiji Maruyama as Steiner Munchausen, Junko Minagawa as Joshua Christopher, Kazuhiko Inoue as Aion, Michiko Neya as Satella Harvenheit, Natsuko Kuwatani as Florette “Fiore” Harvenheit, Norio Wakamoto as Duke Duffau, Saeko Chiba as Azmaria Hendric, Sho Hayami as Ewan Remington, Tomomichi Nishimura as Edward “Elder” Hamilton and Yoshiko Sakakibara as Kate Valentine.
Plot Concept: The year is 1928 A.D. The place is New York, U.S.A. The economic prosperity brought forth after the Great War also heightened the presence of something far darker and much more sinister: the demonic Sinners. The Magdalene Order is an organization that tries to counter this force. Two of its exorcists are Rosette Christopher and her assistant, Chrono.
