Anna Diop Boards ‘Titans’ TV Series As Starfire

2 min read

Anna Diop StarfireThe live-action Titans series is moving right along as one of the cornerstones of the new DC branded digital service that Warner Bros. is putting together and the second  bit of casting has arrived. The newest piece is Anna Diop joining to take on the role of Starfire in the series. The character is an alien princess from a warrior planet who seeks asylum on Earth. A no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners stranger on our world, she has the ability to shoot energy bolts and fly. Searching for her place on Earth, she’ll come into contact with the Titans. Diop was on 24: Legacy and had a recurring role on Quantico while also being a series regular on The Messengers previously.

Previously, Australian newcomer Teagan Croft has taken one of the key lead roles with that of Raven. The character is described as the daughter of a demon, is a powerful empath who must keep her emotions in check or risk unleashing her demonic side. The series will mark 13-year-old Croft’s US debut, though people can see her work in the upcoming Australian film The Osiris Child.

The series will be done by Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter and Warner Bros TV, which means there’s a very good chance it’ll connect with The CW shows to some degree as Berlanti’s projects have worked to keep that a part of things.

Plot Concept: Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.
