Ikemen Sengoku Episode 6“Ikemen Are Furious”

With this series working better than it should, this episode focuses on how Kennyo almost made his kill the last time around and that it has those in the castle feeling pretty tense. Sasuke makes a plan here to try and broker some kind of peace between the sides for the moment so that things can ease down a bit, though he’s not given a lot of time. Amusingly, it focuses on Yuki being left as a hostage with Kenshin and all which means some good silliness there as Sasuke gets distracted on his journey. Yuki is fun to watch in this as he’s just trying to get down and not feel so threatened but he’s having no luck there. What we do get is some nice flashback material that shows the bond between him and Sasuke though and why he’s so sure that he will return.

In Summary:
While this show isn’t great and would be considered very weak in a number of other seasons of short form shows, in this season this is one of the bright spots. Which is pretty unfortunate after such a string of really good short anime for a while. This episode plays well with the group as Yuki is eternally positive while Sasuke shows just how terrible he can be in a lot of ways when things are on the line. It makes me laugh more than it should but it’s still not something that I’d actually call good, if that makes sense.
