2 min read

Gundam Wing PackagingRight Stuf talked about their plans for the Gundam Wing franchise on the convention circuit recently and have now put out the formal solicitation for it. The series is coming as a complete collection on December 5th, 2017 priced at $269.99 for the 1682 minute collection that includes the 49 episode TV series, the Operation Meteor OVA, and the OVA and movie versions of Endless Waltz. That’s an immense amount of content.

Extras for that set includes an entire disc full of exclusive video extras, including the New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop Picture Drama and cast interviews, 5 large art cards, 5 small art cards, 3 posters, a 5-piece metal pin set, and a 180-page hardbound full-color art book featuring detailed key art, promotional artwork, mecha and character design galleries, staff and cast interviews, storyboards, and more! The entire set will be housed in a high-quality chipboard art box. This is a limited edition set and will NOT be remade.

The series is also getting standard editions if that’s too rich for your blood and has things you’re not interested in with the first set landing on November 7th, 2017 at $74.99 on Blu-ray and $49.9 on DVD. That’ll include the clean opening and closing sequences with the first half of the TV series. The second collection has the rest of the TV series landing on that same day for the same pricing and has more of the clean openings and the Japanese commercials.

Originally airing in 1995, the series was directed by Masashi Ikeda and Shinji Takamatsu based on the series composition by Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Shukou Murase handled the character designs and Sunrise produced the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Ai Orikasa as Quatre Raberba Winner, Akiko Yajima as Relena Darlian / Relena Peacecraft, Hikaru Midorikawa as Heero Yuy, Ryuuzou Ishino as Chang Wufei, Shigeru Nakahara as Trowa Barton, Takehito Koyasu as Zechs Merquise / Milliardo Peacecraft and Toshihiko Seki as Duo Maxwell.

The English cast includes Brad Swaile as Quatre Rabarba Winner, Brian Drummond as Zechs Merquise / Milliardo Peacecraft, Kirby Morrow as Trowa Barton, Lisa Ann Beley as Relena Peacecraft, Mark Hildreth as Heero Yuy, Scott McNeil as Duo Maxwell and Ted Cole as Chang Wufei.

Plot Concept: Mankind has moved into space. Thousands of people live on giant orbiting space colonies called “Sides.” However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaries build five robotic weapons called Gundams and plan to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence. Piloted by five young men, these Gundams carry the colonists’ hopes and dreams of freedom with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!
