English Subtitled ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Live-Action Film Trailer Arrives

Tokyo Ghoul Live-Action PosterThe Japanese theatrical debut of the live-action Tokyo Ghoul movie was back on July 29th, 2017 and we’re seeing more of the international side coming into play with smaller windows than we used to have, if at all. While Funimation is planning to bring it out in North America with plans still to be revealed, Madman Entertainment has set their theatrical run for it on September 21st, 2017 and they’ve now dropped their first English subtitled trailer for it.

The film is directed by Kentaro Hagiwara based on the work by Sui Ishida and is being distributed by Shochiku in Japan. It was filmed over three months from July to September 2016.

Plot Concept: Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, individuals who can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the normal humans in secret, hiding their true nature to evade pursuit from the authorities.

Ken Kaneki, a normal college student who, after being taken to a hospital, discovers that he underwent a surgery that transformed him into a half-ghoul after being attacked by his date, Rize Kamishiro who reveals herself to be a ghoul. This was accomplished by transferring Rize’s organs into his body, and now, like normal ghouls, he must consume human flesh to survive.
