Upcoming ‘Gundam Wing’ Releases Detailed With Ultra Edition Bonus Items Revealed

Gundam Wing Hulu HeaderRight Stuf made their first announcements regarding the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing property last month at Anime Expo and have now updated it a bit more at Otakon. The release will be the original TV series, the OVA Endless Waltz, and a newly renamed Ultra Edition coming. The main series and OVAs will be released as three sets this coming holiday season while everything will be in an Ultra Edition as well that now has a pretty sweet extra in the never-before-released four-part OVA Operation Meteor:

The Mobile Suit Gundam Wing TV series will be released across two sets, on both Blu-ray and DVD, in November 2017. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz will be released on both Blu-ray and DVD in December 2017 in a set that includes both the OVA and Movie versions of Endless Waltz, along with the never-before-released four-part OVA Operation Meteor! All content will feature both English and Japanese audio with English subtitles (with the exception of Operation Meteor, which will have Japanese audio with English subtitles only).

A Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Collector’s Ultra Edition will also be also be available in December 2017 and will include the entire TV series, the Operation Meteor OVA, and both the OVA and Movie versions of Endless Waltz. This edition will also feature an entire disc full of exclusive video extras, including the New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop Picture Drama and cast interviews! Additional features exclusive to the Ultra Edition include: 5 large art cards, 5 small art cards, 3 posters, a 5-piece metal pin set, and a 180-page hardbound full-color art book featuring detailed key art, promotional artwork, mecha and character design galleries, staff and cast interviews, storyboards, and more! The entire set will be housed in a high-quality chipboard art box.

Originally airing in 1995, the series was directed by Masashi Ikeda and Shinji Takamatsu based on the series composition by Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Shukou Murase handled the character designs and Sunrise produced the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Ai Orikasa as Quatre Raberba Winner, Akiko Yajima as Relena Darlian / Relena Peacecraft, Hikaru Midorikawa as Heero Yuy, Ryuuzou Ishino as Chang Wufei, Shigeru Nakahara as Trowa Barton, Takehito Koyasu as Zechs Merquise / Milliardo Peacecraft and Toshihiko Seki as Duo Maxwell.

The English cast includes Brad Swaile as Quatre Rabarba Winner, Brian Drummond as Zechs Merquise / Milliardo Peacecraft, Kirby Morrow as Trowa Barton, Lisa Ann Beley as Relena Peacecraft, Mark Hildreth as Heero Yuy, Scott McNeil as Duo Maxwell and Ted Cole as Chang Wufei.

Plot concept: It is the year After Colony 195, and war between the Space Colonies and Earth has begun. To give the colonies an edge, they send 5 young soldiers, trained to perfection, to earth in the most powerful of Mobile Suits-Gundams. With their arrival, the tide of the war changes as they battle against the Earth forces and the Colonies of their origin.
